Connecting through the console

I want to connect to my dedicated server through the console. It has a password but I'm not sure where to put it.

Ex: connect ##.###.###.### password ****

I've tried it that way but it doesn't work.

Anybody know how it's done. I know I've had to do it before and was successful but I can't remember.

if I remember correctly it's connect ip password

if it was 12.23.23.23 with a password of chicken...

connect 12.23.23.23 chicken

Sadly, I don't think that's it. At least it isn't working for me.

If you want to run commands on your dedicated server (from the game), type "rcon_password <insert rcon password here>" and hit enter. Then type "rcon" and hit enter to test it. Then when you want to run commands type "rcon <command>" and hit enter each time. The password will be saved until you exit the game.

I believe it's Server IP; Password.

Figured it out finally... "connect <ip>; password <password>"

That never works for me in game.
