Connecting Xbox 360 and Computer

I've been trying to get my computer connected to my Xbox 360 with both Zune and Windows Media Player 11... following all instructions, and doing everything that makes sense to me as someone who is experienced with network connections.

Nothing has worked thus far. Not going the route of doing the router connection... nor doing the direct connect from PC to xbox 360. None of it is working, and it's starting to piss me off. I'm really tired and will be trying any suggestions given here tomorrow.

if you are using zune software then it should include an option in the settings to allow you to share your music,videos,and pictures with your 360 on the network.

It does... and in Windows Media Player I can see the Xbox as well, and I set it to allow it.

But on the 360, it cannot find a 'selected computer'. I don't know what to do on that end.

I've forwarded ports and everything.

I know for some stuff you need to have Windows Media Center Edition. I can have more advice for you tomorrow, a friend of mine has his hooked up the way you want.

I use WMP11 since that's what I already use and the Zune hardware is horrendous. Anyway, in WMP11 go to Tools -> Options, then click the Sharing tab. From there click configure sharing and your 360 should pop up.

i never understood the hate for zunes, its a great product most problems are because of user error.

Oops. I meant Zune software is horrendous. I actually like the Zunes. If only the screen was better.

Yeah. It does pop up. And I click to allow sharing.

But as I said before, when I try to view my content on my Xbox 360, it says computer selected failed.

It still can't find my computer, even though my computer can find my Xbox 360.



IT keeps failing on PC Selected.

EDIT: I got it to work! My firewall was being a bastard.
