Connection Latency

Ive been using a wireless connection to play this game ever since I could remember. I never had this issue on computer that Ive built but right now I'm stuck with a HP. Everything installs fine and works great. But when viewing servers the game goes from 50 to 1045 to 200 and says times out, then after 30 seconds or so it goes to normal. How can i fix this problem? Alot of times it says my ping is too high also, even though I never had this problem before.Is there something I need to enable or disable? Thanks

That's a wireless connection problem. How far are you from your router? Try moving closer, and seeing what that does. Otherwise If you have a network cable and a wired slot on your router, I'd try wiring your laptop to it. That'd probably help.

nope no good, i tried opening ports and chanign things. tried wired same issue

It is possible that it is your internet connection. Even though it has been working fine previously, doesn't mean things can't go awry at some point. Do you have a simple usb modem or something that you could plug directly into your pc and connect to the internet via ? That way it may be possible to eliminate the router from the equation.
