(console): slayed player ****? wtf?

I was playing DM and was killed three times by absolutely no-one. A bolt of lightning came from the sky, and a message came up saying "(console): slayed player shasta". What the hell? Was someone hacking? The little skull & bones symbol appeared with my name at the top right of the screen where the kills are announced, meaning I was counted as killing myself. I hadnt even fired anything. Can someone please explain what happened if this is normal, or present some ideas if it is not. One of the times I was about to finish someone off who was holding a crowbar when it happened. I know they didn't kill me, because the lightning came again, "(console) blah blah" came up, and once again I was recorded as killing myself. I do not hack, or cheat, or even use the console at all, and was a bit frustrated by it all. Help me understand!:flame: :flame:

Oh, I see- a "responsible" admin was having a cry because some guy (who was in the middle of his 5th online multiplayer game ever) killed them too much? How embarrasing for him/her. What a winner. I was in a VAC sealed server- doesn't that mean cheating is bannable? Or does that not count for admins if their admin can't play very well? I guess it's actually a compliment- an admin having to use cheats to kill a noob. Lol. I like it.

The admin didn't hack, he's just admin to his server so he can do whatever to anyone who wants, that includes burning, blinding, slaying, etc through the Mani Plugin and others.

I understand that, but it's the principle: cheating (ANY kind) = ban (except for admin). We all know it is cheating, even if it's not 'hacking', so why bother even trying to seperate the two? Oh well, like I said, if they need to use things like that - and on NOOBs, I can only laugh at them for needing to. HAHAHAHAHA. Pussies. Meow. I should add to my sig "- if you can without cheating".

ONCE AGAIN- I understand that. My point (pay attention now - sit up straight, eyes front) is what kind of winner admin USES this 'holy power of the server admin', especially on a NOOB that IS playing by the rules? Hmm? Got it now? I hope so. I know that it is probably their server, hell, they may even have payed for it themselves. I DON'T CARE. Lose gracefully. Great. Let's get an ice-cream.

BTW- this will always count as cheating to me when used for the wrong reasons, ie they are getting owned. Please don't try to justify it. We all know why these plugins are there, and when it is -and isn't- appropriate to use them. You don't welcome people to your server and then sh*t on them for no good reason. If a server admin just doesn't want to have the general public on their server, lock it with a password, or at least have a sign saying "I will cheat if i have to".

Most likely to be an admin, but i've played HL2DM with some weird fricking mod and it randomly slayed you for doing nothing after some time running around without shooting or something, i just left in the end, it was obviously a really buggy crappy mod. So yeah admin slayed you.

And the guy who said 'it adds +1' to your score, was messing with you, he was playing the 'evil abusive admin' justifying them doing it. So instead of going crazy, just calm down and read between the lines, your new here arent you, well get to know it first, or you make yourself look silly.

Hell I always make myself look silly, the trick is to convice you all that I'm not... Besides, I don't go crazy, more sarcastic and abusive than anything- always take what I say with a grain of salt. You'll know if I'm seriously pissed rather than just playing. I just have a unique (read disturbed) sense of humour.

Well, Mani admin can be very useful... most servers running it don't have abusive mods, and it's actually pretty nice. It's just sometimes you get an asshole running the show.

If it said <console> etc etc you were slain by someone outside of the game, not someone you were playing against. So you weren't being punished by a sore loser. I'm sure however, that you were a perfect angel and didn't deserve it at all.

Actually, there was only about 4 of us at the time I believe, and it was quite hard to find anyone to be naughty to, even if I wanted to. Oh well. Life goes on.
