hELLO, I HAVE WHAT I FEEL IS A PRETTY GOOD SYSTEM, P4 3.2 1 GIG RAM AND RADEON 9800 PRO, DELL 2001 FP.
I LET THE SYSTEM DETERMINE THE PROPER SETTINGS, HOWEVER I TURNED OFF ANY AA AND AF.
EVERY TIME I PLAY THOUGH COULD BE AFTER A MINUTE OR 30 MINUTES, BUT AT SOME POINT, I GET MASSIVE ARTIFACTS, IT STARTS AS PIXELING THEN TURNS TO THOSE LONG STREAKS THAT EVENTUALLY FILL THE SCREEN.
I HAVE TRIED WHAT I CAN NOW I TURN TO YOU FOR HELP.
ANY SUGGESTIONS

RE: Constant Artifacts On Good System

I had these artifacts because I had some conflicts between two graphic card drivers. When I looked through the programs in Add or Remove programs I found that my previous driver wasn't completely uninstalled. That fixed my problems.

Install Catalyst Control Center and turn off Catalyst AI in the settings.

how good is the cooling in the dell? That could be a problem

That's what I'm thinking. It sounds like a problem with heat. Open that case up and blow the dust out of it. You might even check to make sure the fan on your card is working properly. If not then there are some cooling fans you can buy for your video card.
