Hi..

I'm trying to run CS:S, on a fairly freshly formatted system with no spyware/viruses/etc. The problem is, I'm getting constant crashes with no error messages. The screen will just go black and my monitor will stop working until I reboot. Other times, the sound will freeze up and make a horrible squealing noise then reboot. Yet other times, the screen will get stuck and I'll have to reboot. I have no idea why any of this is happening, and am wondering if anyone can help me out.

yea quite a few people are having this problem, including myself. Unfortunatly there is no fix that I have found, and there is no apparent correlation between the people that have problems similar to this. We can only hope Valve will fix this glaring bug in their next update. Setting the resolution to 800x600 allows me to play it, but I shouldn't have to with my specs. Maybe it will work for you too.
