converting files into steam cache

it's been doing this for nearly an hour now, still no shown progress. anyone else get this?

happend to me for about 10 mins, got bored and there was no progress so i closed it and reopend. came to games and i opend cs - did that preparing to launch thing, 24 mins left, then it was stuck there for another 10 and i closed it, im reinstalling it again now.

yeah after 20 mins i closed it because my Hd wasn't even moving and it was saying converting. Steam also still makes my pc boot slowly.
