two of my friends need new cases and power supplies. im very clueless when it comes to shopping for cases. manuervering through pricewatch is an act of futility. wondering if anyone had some advice on a good case or case store? this is the criteria im looking for:

1. cheaper the better
2. good + semi-quiet airflow so that heat is never an issue.
3. Mid-size ATX
4. no powersupply included(getting customs anyway)
5. doesn't matter what it looks like

im not looking for a pretty case, although if i could find a sleek looking one that is cheap as hell, id go with it obviously, i just want something that will house these guys' computers without overheating but is very cheap, so i can spend more of their budget on their power supply. bigger, better engine instead of lots of neon lights..from a car perspective.

seems like no matter where i go i find case stores with ultra glamorous cases for absurd amounts of money. advice would be nice

it looks really good for what im looking for, except the shipping is a bit high. hmm

What kind of custom PSU will you be getting?
Cause you can actually get a good case and a good PSU together. Link
120mm fan in the front is very quiet.

Or one without Link
oo and blue

yeah you cant get anythign lower then $15 for shipping cases

raidmax has pretty cool cases but im not shure on prices, shouldnt be too much though

i was thinking a fortron, antec or thermaltake purepower. since those are pretty popular over at hardforum.com(PCP&C are too but those are way to expensive). i just needs ones that can tame an overclocked a64 system with a geforce6800gt/x800pro.

well newegg sells other cases with free shipping. but hmm

Yeah but I doubt they're any good. All the case I've seen that weren't terrible had over $10 shipping. But the Antec case Asus linked I recommend, that's a nice case with a nice psu and it will probably save you some money, unless the psu you were gonna get was an Antec or Thermaltake or some other high quality psu.

Comes with an Antec PSU which would be more than enough for a little OCing on an Athlon 64. ;)
Although if you want to do more extreme OCing I would recommend something with at least 20amps on the 12v+ rail, maybe closer to 30.

ok thx for the help guys.

also im curious asus, what PS do you have?

and have you overclocked your 3000+ at all? it is the cpu im planning to get for a friend pretty soon, and i heard it gets decent results with stock cooling.

I have an Enermax 420Watt PSU (450 max) which as a 15Amp 12v+ Rail. I've had it for almost 2 years.
I have OCed my Athlon 64 from 2GHz to 2.3 and 2.4GHz with stock cooling and some AS3.
