Neg.

A WW2 Max Payne 2 Mod, hellz yesh.

Damn you! Can't you give me a direct link? Half are dead and half are in some alien language(german, methink).

hooooooly shit. apart from ripping off star wars, lotr, the matrix and saving private ryan...it works pretty fooking well i think.

the team could use some pointers with their camera-work and sets but it's pretty sweet.

No more WW2 games, PLEASE. MoH:AA was arse. Return to Castle wolfenstein just used that as a kind of background - it wasn't central. CoD is very good but it should probably be left there. Oh and Red Orchestra is very good. But otherwise, just let it die. They're running out of war theatres. A friend of mine thinks one reason why people make WW2 games is because you don't have to think up/write a proper plot or background world - it's all there ready-made. Laziness, essentially. I kind of agree with him.

Or how's aboot being original and thinking up your own plot?

wtf...what could me more fun than sneaking into a camp full of germans, stealing some important documents, and then sneaking back out the the calls of "hans, vere ist mine dildo ja?"

WWII is full of gaming goodness..it just takes the right mind to find the right scenarios to choose. so keep watching the horizon, you'll see something interesting soon ;)

But it's lazy design. Weapons, settings, scenarios, challenges, enemies, vehicles - it's all ready made for the designer and thus there's no creativity. But they sell, and so publishers are content with funding such games and NOT TAKING RISKS. That's stunting the growth of computer gaming as an artistic medium and entertainment form. Bad Thing.
And also, I've heard that WW2 games are consciously and maliciously causing of 53% of all organised crime in the US; 47% of benefit fraud in the UK; 61% drunken violence in France and a staggering 76% of drug-peddling in Australia.

EDIT: I've just watched the actual video. I don't believe I've been so confused in quite a while. Well, an hour or two, but you get the point. Were those scenes linked in any way at all? I mean to say, it was well done, but what the f*ck?

say what? WWII games cause crime? you got any links to back this claim up?

i dunno where you're from, but here in good ol england it's super fun to blow up germans (no offense to german forum members, i'm referring to nazi's). WWII makes an excellent action game setting. yes it can be classed as lazy, but that's not the devloper's fault all of the time. sometimes the devs just need a bit of easy cash so they'll churn out a WWII game. other times there are devs who are truly in sync with the medium and can make the best WWII game available, eg. H&D2, Secret Weapons Over Normandy. there are a few gems in amongst the shit i assure you, you just gotta look for them.

i agree with you that devs are sticking to tried and tested theaters of war...i mentioned this a few days ago but the average gamer has liberated france approximately 6000 times. it's getting ridiculous but the only thing i can say is watch the horizon for a new setting/scenario *wink wink nudge nudge* (can't make it more obvious than that).

1. Yes I do, it's: http://www.imadeitup.co.uk/itscalledajoke
2. I'm from Britain. Surely where you're from makes no difference?
3. It provides some good action in places, true. However my general gripe is that (for the majority of the time at least) it's too easy and similar and BORING. Show me something new and exciting, not the same old weapons in the same old places with the same old foes and the same old everything.
4. Now where could THAT be?:)

the link didn't work, no worries though i'm not too bothered.

i'm from britain too. i think it does make a little bit of difference because surely you know about the england v germany matches? and the chants of "stand up if you won the war" etc. it's just a general old rivalry between the two nations, and most people i know love WWII films like Were Eagles Dare and The Great Escape, so they gobble up things like H&D2 etc.

i find history is inescapable. WWII games can't help but have the same weapons and the same enemies, it's history, so i can understand you being bored with WWII games. no worries, i'm bored too. well actually i'm more pissed off at the devs because they can't be bothered to try anything new. but that's all gonna change. at least with a few devs anyway.
