Can you copy a windowsxp install from one hard-drive to the other?
My Setup
C:\ - SATA
F:\ - PARTITION OF THE C:\ (30GB) I want windows XP HERE.
D:\ - IDE
C:\ - Currently has Windows Vista Installed
D:\ - Currently has Windows XP installed
I want to get windows xp onto the F:\. I can't install the SATA drivers when i boot off the windows xp cd because my floppy disk drive has been destroyed in a catastrophic fire. I have created a merged xp install with nlite with the drivers but that doesn't work. USB doesn't work, reading anything other than A:\ does not work. Simply can't get the hard drive detected.
Last solution. Is it possible to copy the windows xp install from the D:\ to the F:\, rejig , hack, fiddle with the boot.ini file etc and make it work from F:\?
Dumbest question of the day?
