In a deal struck between the Russian space agency and a Toronto-based golf company, a cosmonaut will use a gold-plated six iron to hit a ball from the International Space Station this year. The ball will orbit Earth for four years, travelling millions of miles and eventually burning up in the planet's atmosphere.

I was actually thinking that they could hit the golf-ball into deep space, that way it would burn up in another star in like 2000 years time.

Into space. That way it might destroy an alien Star Cruiser and cause an interstellar war.

ftw.

And now we go through...the Stargate....

Into orbit, so that it might accidentally strike a satellite! Whee!

Well, being on the ISS, it is already in orbit. Hitting the ball will mearly put it into a different orbit track. Hitting it into deep space wouldn't be possible, unless he had a nuclear powered golf club or something.

Orbit. That way if it passes hubble, all the guys there would be like "Holy shit we've found a new planet!"

somehow I see that ball causing the apocolpyse
*golf ball into atmosphere and become into a giant fireball of the size of australia and is coming to earth*

people:dam we all are going to die for a golf ball?in the meantime lets kill allthe golf players!
tiger woods:dont look at me I play crikect!

Shoot it in front of the hubble space telescope. Then Nasa scientists will think they found the "Titleist" Planet.

Short Recoil can still out drive him.

I've changed my mind, I would Orbit. There is always a possibility that it would hit spacecraft from an invading alien fleet.

- "The Space Ball is so fast we are having problems targetting it with our Turbo Lasers"
- "Prepare for ball-to-ball combat!" :P

Considering how difficult it is to drive in a spacesuit, I don't think he has a choice of where it's going to go, whch is why he's in space right now (or will be).

I doubt the impact would generate enough force to counter the gravitational attraction of the Earth and propel the ball into deep space. Like kirovman said, it is almost inevitable that it'll stay in orbit. It would need a constant propelling force to escape the Earth's gravity.

That certainly isn't true.

What the hell is wrong with all you 'GUYS' that are obsessed over another guy who you think has big muscles? They're not even big!!! He took a picture at and awkward angle that makes his shoulders look large, but if you took the time to stop admiring the trick photography, you'd notice his arms are about as wide as claussen pickles.

I'm guessing short recoil left this forum because his straightness was being invaded. Or maybe he wasn't straight and this is actually www.halflife2.gay.
