Counter Strike origins

Hey guys, I was wondering the origins of Counter Strike, I have never been a hard core CS fan (due mostly to their community) but I would like to know were does it come from? I only know that a MOD team made it, but if you could give me a link or some info I would appreciate it.

Yep, they sold the rights to Valve in 2000/2001, and then Gooseman and cliffe (who's registered here), were made staff members of Valve.
