Just the one update for CS: Source today, which is as follows:
  • Fixed a crash which could occur if the dynamic weapon price list failed to download
Nice nice, the Source Engine updates are:
  • Added new cl_restrict_server_commands to prevent unwanted commands being run on game clients. The default value is 1. (0 = No server command restrictions, 1 = Restricts server commands in Valve multi-player, 2= Restricts server commands in all multi-player).
  • Decreased startup time in some cases by rate-limiting the packets sent to clients during logon
  • Improved responsiveness when entering map areas with lots of entities by automatically compressing large packet updates
As usual, restart your engines! I mean Steam, to receive this update. Ping!

Too bad it's for source only. Blocking client commands would be a welcome change on Half-Life 1.

Needs more blocking client commands on HL1.

Yes. Half-life 1 is by far the more popular game engine.

Wake up valve!! Cs1.6 and dod1.3 need this!

This sounds useful. What does it mean? Has VALVe just added that to make sure no one uses a Cvar forcer?

We (because I am legion) run a DM mod on our server and since the update it's meant the mod menus no longer work unless the players reset the option back to off. Sure I can understand people wanting to block problems, but I'd rather they set the position to off by default with the release. Much Chaos with the mod scene. Especially as a lot of CS players are clueless when it comes to commands

Except when it comes to rates. Bigger is better, people!

The margin is shrinking all the time.... the big V probably dont want to devote too much time to longevity of old tat :P

Incidently - why is this taking so long to download, argh
