Which do you play more of? I'm curious cause some of my friends play 1.6 only (crap PCs). Though a reason would be nice cause I guess some people can't handle the netcode as well as others.

I stopped playing 1.6 when Source came out. It flows smoother, looks better, but I mean...come on, core gameplay is there, and watching some guy floating mid air after death just drives me mad.

Anybody who argues one is better than the other are just being elitist, arrogant idiots. I play them both, and they both feel just about the same, except for obvious engine changes.

I only play 1.6, I just can't stand Source. Shiny and everything...but it's just not for me. I feel the same about DOD, but not Team Fortress 2

I play source pretty much exclusively (I think 1.6 has better surfing though). I have no idea why, I just prefer it. Probably because it looks nicer and I'm better at it.

EDIT: Oh and I despise 1.6's Drag back mechanic when you get shot. Pisses me the **** off.

I dont play CS anymore now that only 5 year old dolts play it.

although I have tried both (CS on Xbox and CSS on PC) and 1.6 definitely flowed better

I use to play the very old verisons of CS and eventually 1.6 ofcorse, and when source came out, i still kind of sticked with 1.6 for a year, then i made the final transition to source and played it only.

Once CS:Source came out I dropped CS as well. Although I don't think I've fired up a game of either for a long time. Maybe 7 months ago I played CSS for a few weeks but all of my recent MP has been TF2.

I loved regular CS up until 1.4.

I'm a bit different than Asus when it came to CS. I played from beta 2 up until 1.6. About 3 months before the CSS Beta came out, I stopped playing CS all together. Then the Beta came out, I pirated it just so I could get a feel for it, and loved it, and uninstalled the pirated version and got it legitly and played it for about 6 months more, then just slowly dropped off. I play it when I'm drunk from time to time.

source, i left cs1.6 at the time source came out, 10000s of cheaters on cs1.6 compared to 10s on source.

I voted Source since I did switch to it when it came out... but it doesn't even look that great anymore so I might actually prefer 1.6... the riot shield -is- pretty awesome!

You people actually played stuff before 1.4? Wow, you must've been blowing the brains of terrorists when you were toddlers! I started playing cs in the first place back in 2004, when it was 1.6. Played it for like half a year until cs:s comes out. Now I haven't played either game in two years.

I don't play either. I have played them in the past a small bit, and I don't plan on playing them much in the future. There is a CS section BTW.
