"A MARRIED couple played computer games "day and night" while the four young children they looked after were left to starve in one of the worst cases of neglect imaginable.

The children, all under eight, were found to be malnourished, filthy and suffering from "extensive dental problems".

The eldest, who was left to look after the others, was unable to eat because her teeth were so rotten from her heavily sugar-based diet and she later had to have them all removed. "

it's not a case of "video games made me do it" but someone somewhere will use games as a scapegoat in this case

Scary to think that some addictions make some people so the extremist of things.

Blaming it on "games" would be rather shallow. The Internet and game were just a medium to deliver it. The scenario probably wouldn't have been much different it they went to a Casino/place of gambling, apart from the fact that the kids would have been left alone at home.

That's terrible, and would agree that they could have neglected them with any hobbie/past-time/what have you.
