I was just wondering what everyones opinion is on the anime Cowboy bebop. I just went back and watched the whole series again and it was absalutely amazing. It is by far the best anime ever made

Also, do you think it's slightly possible that they can make a new season? All I know is that they are making a live action film.

I thought Cowboy Bebop was absalutely amazing, too.

i only watched the movie but it was amazing! i'll get around to watching the show someday

That is a panel to be saved.

The entire series (I think) is still on youtube. Shouldn't be that hard to find.

Edit: Oh, and I think the casting of Keanu Reeves was absolutely horrible. Maybe its just me.

I do seriously enjoy Cowboy Bebop. Even those people who don't enjoy Anime much like CB. They did good with the show.

I think I'm going to have to get it and watch them all over.

It is such a good series. Now my heart will be rend in two due to hollywood's infernal scheming :(

Far too episodic, hard to have any connection with the characters, occasionally amusing, generally "meh".

****ing loved it. Own entire series and movie on dvd.

i believe the maker stated he's done with CB
To clarify:

After the creation of the series, an interviewer asked Watanabe if he had any plans to create more Cowboy Bebop material. Watanabe responded by saying that he does not believe that he "should just keep on making Cowboy Bebop sequels for the sake of it". Watanabe added that ending production and "to quit while we're ahead when people still want more" is more "in keeping with the Bebop spirit".[15] In a more recent interview from 2006 with the Daily Texan Watanabe was asked if there would ever be more Cowboy Bebop. Watanabe's answer was "someday, maybe someday"

Also Spike was never officially dead in the series either.
Spike is generally thought to have died of wounds sustained in his final duel with Vicious and the fading star in the ending theme of the finale is thought to support this claim. In an interview, Watanabe stated "I've never officially said that he died. At this point, I can tell you that I'm not sure if he's alive or dead."[6] He also stated that he believes fans would be upset if there was a continuation.

So even without a continuation, its a free ending (who knows, maybe Jet comes by and picks him up).

If he's not dead, it will ruin the ending's power. He went out exactly how he should have, with a bang.

/cheesy post.

I really liked it, but I agree with kupo that it was far too episodic. They could have had a bit more of an overarching plot, but instead it's just random unrelated shit and then every ten episodes they throw a major plot point at you out of nowhere. I actually kind of preferred the movie to the series since it was completely self-contained, had excellent animation throughout and an even better soundtrack (IMO).

That reminds me, is Samurai Champloo any good? Same guy, right? It's been on my to-watch list for a while now.

I enjoyed it precisely because it wasn't plot arc-based. I was watching it in the same period as I was watching other anime with larger overarching storylines (GiTS:SAC, having horrible trouble following the Laughing Man storyline for the first time) and so a series with the basic premise of 'cool things happen in space' was somewhat of a relief.

Yes. It's not quite as good as Bebop, but it's still fantastic. It's even more episodic, so beware of that...but it's amazing and the animation is top notch.
