CPU + Motherboard

Ok. I have an issue. I want to get a Pentium 4 3200 but I have no idea what the best motherboard might be. If any of you hardware wizz people can help me out..here are my choices of motherboard:

Asus P4P800-E Delux 865PE / 8xAGP / DualDDR / Lan / Sata Raid / Firewire


Asus P4P800 SE 865PE / 8xAGP / DualDDR / Lan / Sata

Those are my choices. Naturally I believe the most expnsive one is the better one and the first one is the most expensive.

Any ideas or maybe suggestions? And could someone tell me what Firewire means?? Thank you.

you want to get one with an 875 chip. The two you have listed are the 865. The 875 is a bit faster.

875?? does the CPU also have to be 875 or just the Motherboard??

875 is the high performance chip on the motherboard for performance freaks and 865 is more for the mainstream crowd.

THe fastest motherboard you can get for the pentium 4 is probably Asus p4C800 Deluxe. Other good choices are probably Abit IC7-G and Chaintech 9JCS Zenith.

Asus is probably the fastest.
Abit is more if your going to overclock.
Chaintech just comes with a lot of extra goodies.

Some people say theres not a noticable difference between 865 and 875 boards. But just to be on the side I would get an 875.
