So here's my issue: Just recently (about 2 months ago) my system started acting up. The most noticeable thing being that when I re-size windows by dragging the corner it's annoyingly laggy. Rather than "flowingly" re-sizing, it definitely "jumps" around more than it should in such a basic operation. Also my fps in games, even HL2: Lost Coast, are pathetic in certain instances where they drop down to 30fps (1680x1050 4xAA 8xAF) Am I wrong to think that shouldn't happen with my specs?
What I've done so far: Cleaned out previous video card driver by uninstalling then using driver sweeper, then installed the previous driver released. I then updated my Mobo Bios to the most current one. Also tried Defraging previously. All with no desirable results. I reformatted my HDD about a week ago; however it was happening before the reformat too.
I called EVGA my graphics card brand and got some technical support but there's nothing they told me that I didn't already do. And my issue is I don't want to send in my card under warranty unless I'm positive that's the problem and it's not my CPU. So currently I'm going to be running a 3dmark06 test to see if my results are comparable to others with the same specs as me and hopefully see where the problem lies.
What in your peoples experience have you found to be the cause of these sort of issue's because if all else fails I'm just going to be sending in my components one by one maybe unnecessarily if it's something as simple as a software issue. Thanks.
