Does anyone know a good cure for a cramp? I've been having cramps in my achilles thingy for some time now, but it really really hurts now and I don't know how to cure it and it's driving me insane!
I woke up this morning and BAM! Neverending pain and agony in my left leg.
So, does anyone know how to cure it?
EDIT: zomg 666th post

Just stretch the antagonist muscle.
Like the biceps is the antagonist muscle of the triceps and vica versa.
So when you've got cramp in your achilles heel, either keep it flat or keep it tilted, depending on which muscle is cramped.

i usually try & move my leg/arm watever it is i have cramp in.

Breathe more, you can sometimes get cramp because of an acid that builds up when you don't get enough O2.

Somewhere i heard cramping can be caused by a lack of salts, makes sense because i used to get it when swimming whilst i was doing LOADS of running and hence losing salts.

Having some rehydration electrolytes should help, drink plenty of water, cut down on coffee if you drink it.
In theory eating raw ginger and garlic will help prevent it as well, due to circulation increase.

oh god i hate foot cramps like that. so painful.

i just stretch my foot as much as i can and it goes away

you probably have AIDS.

edit: full blown

Amputation is the only solution!

No! Everybody's wrong! You need potassium. Potassium deficiency causes painful cramps, particularly in the legs and feet. Eat a few bananas, drink some gatorade, and eat more fruit from now on.

I'm wrong? did you read my post. It isn't just potassium salts however.

I did not know salts = potassium. I figured you meant a sodium deficiency
Remember, most of us yanks aren't used to these brit terms.

Everyone's wrong. You have a deficiency in sex.

I don't understand why people are always complaining about cramps and then do nothing about them! When I feel a cramp 'coming', I simply stop it by stretching or relaxing the muscle. Simple.

It's simple. I didn't feel it coming, I just woke up, and I had an immense pain all of a sudden.

Ah, I have that sometimes, you probably have low blood pressure, when you get cramp, just move your legs around. (or where ever the cramp is)

Just flex the 'antagonist' muscle immediately. be quick. :p
