Crash after map change

My HL2 crashes every time about a minute or so after a new map starts. It happens to me in both HL2CTF and DoD:S (the only 2 games i play). It happens 100% of the time, and it doesn't matter if i was in the server when the map started or not. In other words, if I join a server that JUST started a new map, about a minute after the map started, my game crashes.

Ever heard of this issue? What can I do about it?

Have you tried validating?
steam://validate/220 (HL2)
steam://validate/300 (DoD:S)

Have you downloaded the newest drivers for your graphic card?

Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz w/ 1 GB RAM
150 GB Hard Drive
Radeon X850 w/ 8.172.0.0 driver
