Crash to Desktop %$#&&*

:angry: I bought HL2 butt when I try to load the game engine, the game crashes to desktop :angry:

I don't understand because I've got the minimum requirements on my laptop

2.2 Ghz, 240 Mb of RAM
Mobile Intel(R) Pentium 4
Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller

I think the problem has to do with my videocard.....i am not such a computer guru plz help me I wanna play this neat game!!

btw the video stress test doesn't work either....it crashes to desktop too

I'm not even sure what kind of graphics card that is, but I doubt it meets the minimum requirements.

That would be Intel Integrated "Extreme" Graphics. HL2 won't run on that. You need a new video card, also you only have 240mb or RAM which is definitely not enough, 256mb is bare minimum but you should have at least 512mb. And because you have onboard video your motherboard may not have an AGP slot, so there's no decent graphics card you can get, but see if it has one, you'll be able to see your PCI slots all lined up then closer to the center a similar looking slot, usually brown or green. If you don't have one it's time to get a new computer because there's a lot that needs upgrading.

I'm sure its 256. Its not possible to have 240mb of ram, no matter what combinathion of sticks you use.

I figure he has got 256mb of RAM, but the integrated graphics takes away 16mb of it. Also, he is talking about a laptop, so a graphics upgrade is impossible.

and anything that uses integrated RAM is unlikely to be able to run HL2 with any textures...
