I saw this movie called Crash last night. It's one of those movies where many different stories are intertwined, and it's a masterpiece.

You should check it out.

3 Academy Awards, including best picture 2005

From the back of the box:

This compelling urban thriller tracks the volatile intersection of a multi-ethnic cast of characters struggling to overcome their fears as the careen in and out of one another's lives. In the gray area between black and white, victim and aggressor, during the next 36 hours, they will all collide.

Fantastic movie, definitely a classic.

Agreed. Star-studded cast, tightly woven story and surreal shots. Excellent.

Yeah, I don't think I've seen a movie with so many stars, and they were all cast perfectly, they weren't thrown in just for the sake of it, like some movies.

The actors fit their parts so well, it was believable that those were their real personalities.

It was pretty good, some things I didn't like about it though. I liked Babel much more when it comes to interrelated stories, now that was a beautiful film.

Babel was good, but I'm surprised you liked it better than Crash. Babel had fewer main characters but spent more time (perhaps too much) on each part.

Babel bored the hell out of me, whereas Crash kept me thoroughly entertained.

Crash was decent but nothing more. Everyone was going on about the stories being intertwined as if it's never happened in a movie before, and the racism thing.

Haven't seen it myself but a few people I know did and thought it was overrated and far too preachy ''Hey we have a message, racial intolerance mmkay?''

Well Babel had a very subtle beauty and underlining message that I appreciated a lot more. For me, Crash was too blatant, I don't like things that are always given point blank. It was too "you need to learn a lesson from this, and this is what the lesson is" type thing, as where Babel kind of left it to your own interpretation and contemplation as to what the film is conveying.

Also, the whole blanket part in Crash was a little goofy IMO. It was still a good film, haven't seen it since it was in theaters so I'll have to watch it again some time.

Like ZT I kinda liked Crash but felt it was a bit unsubtle and didactic.

I thought it was good, but a little over-dramatic at times. A little too hollywood for my liking. For example the mexican guy
does absolutely nothing to the arab guy after he came this close to killing him/his daugther. Doesn't press charges or nothing. And all the white people in the film end up having a shit time in the end, whereas all the other storylines turn up rosy
.

One of the cop story lines turns out fine and he's a hero if I remember right.

No, no no nono no non on on on onnono nono nonono.

No.

The only redeeming/uncliche part of this movie was Ludacris' performance, because it didn't suck as I was expecting it to.

Overrated; Haggis can go back to scriptwriting school.
