OK, I have reinstalled my drivers, did a Refresh rate check (60) and reinstalled BF2 twice. Everytime I click the BF2 icon the screen goes black like it's going to work, then it flashes, turns a different shade of black then crashes to the desktop. All in about 10 seconds. I never make it to the menu. I have:

2.4 gig, 512 mb ram, Geforce 4 Ti4600

help?? :E Thanks

turn off fast writes in BIOS? Check to make sure you have DirectX 9.0c installed as well.

I know I have DX9.0c, but will Fast writes do it if I turn it off? I hope

The Ti series of cards aren't supported. I have the same problem. Just bad optimization.

What do you mean they arent supported? We can't play? Ever?

Listen Killa. The net is in an uproar over this.. It seems the geforce ti line has been specifically (i'm not kidding) negelected by EA. There is a fix that will get you into the menu unfortunatly it will not let you play the game because *technically* bf2 checks a number of times what gfx card you have.

So I seriously have to buy a new card? They aren't going to add support or fix it?

No. Some one will find a work arund or EA will see the error of there ways.. thousands of epople are pissed of and are voicing there concerns all around the net.. just check the ea boards and the forumplanet boards... either ea will fix this or we will find a work aruond... but if your planning on buying a new card.. make sure it's an ati brand...

I have 512mb ram and 2.4gigs, should I buy another 512mb to run this game if they end up fixing the card stuff? :dozey:

sure more ram is always nice.. but currenlty it still won't let you play the game.

:dozey: Why does it have to be ATI brand? I mean if you're going to buy a new graphics card specifically for this game, the way to go is with Nvidia.

With 1gb of ram, and 2.4gigs and a Geforce 4 Ti4600 (if they get it working) Will I be able to run medium ok?

Because from the looks of things its as if Nvidia payed EA to do this bull shit in the first place.

Yeah, it definitely looks like Nvidia payed EA to not support their older cards, thinking that the Ti owners would be loyal customers and just upgrade to newer Nvidia tech. Well, I'm not going to upgrade until at least UE3 anyway, and when I do it's going to be to an ATI card - definitely not Nvidia.

Yeah def. I have 512 and even after killing all my processes in the task manager and cranking up my virtual memory to 1500mb I get 5 minute loading times. (And since rounds are usually 10 minutes, well...) This also means I can't run xfire or teamspeak at the same time.
