Sorry to post another 'the game keeps crashing' thread but I want to know if anyone is in my situation.
When I first got the game, it loaded fine (a little long but ok). My first hiccup was the a freeze with a looping sound. I have read about a few of those on this board. I had that same freeze a few more times before being able to play for about 15 minutes straight. Later on I had some of the common memory error crashes. Then I started getting the full on crash to startup. I have never voluntarily quit a game of HL2 yet. When I start it, I know that I will be crashing out of it.
So in short, I am getting every possible crash in the book. This is rediculous. My system is solid as a rock and have no problems with ANY game I own (and that is 20+). I hope they put out a fix quick. That little unpack verifier check doesnt do a thing except waste about 10 minutes more of your life.
