Creatine question

*Que Short Recoil* I'm taking this new miracle supplement called creatine that supposedly helps you build muscle mass. Anyone have some helpful info on this stuff, like how long should I use it and what it will do to me?
 
don't take it.

I M a body builder first of all. my advice is, stik to natural food. and aviod any artificial supplements.

But Ronnie Coleman is Mr. Olympus! Anyway, I do stick to natural, as I pretty much eat eggs, oatmeal, turkey, and various other natural foods. I am aware of the calorie counting necessity and how to gain and lose weight while mantaining lean muscle mass. But I heard that creatine is a great way to get energy before a lift, and that it'll help you pack on lean mass much quicker. I'm sure that Ronnie Coleman takes a shit load of other supplements to get that big; just take a look at the pages of muscle and fitness. Ronnie is on more than his fair share of endorsement pages for all kinds of supplements.

Those pictures are disturbing. Body builders are disturbing. Body building chicks are hideous.

I want to get muscular, but I refuse to get anything like THAT.
 
Its probably just a pile of suger tablets, that you paid $30 for? :P

I do congratulate and, to a lesser extent, admire their bulging muscles... but I think slender people are cuter by a factor of approximately 600.
 
i admire body building alot but i think ppl like those just take it too far. there's a sane limit to everything

Anyway, creatine is a natural substance, it's basically the "nitro" of the muscles, VERY quick short span energy boosts when you're pumping. if you take creatine youre supposed to increase your efficiency with 40%.

But you need to have off periods, like take it a month and then drop it a month, so the body doesn't stop producing it.
 
Don't bother with supplements like creatine unless you have your diet spot on as it is.

A lot of people take supps as a "shortcut", if you have your diet and training spot on but you are making little progress that is when you take the creatine.

When you do take 5g after workout mixed in with some grape juice.
It's debated if you need to cycle it or not, it's better to be safe than sorry however, take it for 2/3 months, have a washout of 2 /3 weeks, have a month off then start again.

I used to take creatine monohydratye. Now I pretty much just take regular whey protein, along with a good diet of course.
 
Yeah, whey protein is much better. Little more expensive though.
 
About whey being better... as for the expensive part.. honestly, I was about 70% certain.

I take half a teaspoon in the morning and half a teaspoon 30minutes before my work out....how much does half a teaspoon weigh?

Oh, i take the CEX as well so i don't need to load :).

A level teaspoon is about 5g, so yeah, you are prob having the right dose.
However you should have the second load after the workout, to "re stock", keep the one where it is in the morning though.

I live in the country and I'll tell you right now that it originated as Okey Dokey. Not okely dokely.
