Ok, i have an older game, Age of Empires II, that I got for about $10. Awesome game. I hate putting in the cd every time I want to play this game AND i noticed that the size of the CD isn't that large. My question: how do I create an iso file ? I tried with nero, but it just stops. same with magiciso. what program would work? And the no cd crack doesn't work for single play. Sure I could torrent the game, but what's the point. I already own it.

still nothing. it comes up with errors with programs like Isobuster, Nero, Alcohol 120. It just stops with magiciso. . If the program is still at 1% after about 10 minutes i am assuming the program isn't working. Is that valid? Or does ripping an .iso take 20hours?

depends on your system..cd/dvd drive speeds..progam settings...

all kinds of crap could foul up an image

amd64 3000
k8t neo
1gb ram
52x dvdr/rw
win xp

i don't think it's my comp specs that's the problem. i think it has to do with the fact i have no idea how these programs work or Microsoft has some encryption that defeats all those programs from ripping them. The thing is i can extract the files with isobuster, but it appears to just copy the files to the HD. how do i get an .iso out of that?

wait, isobuster gets errors too. like:

sector 821 couldn't be read
error: 03/11/00

should i:
a: quit the program and give up?
b. omit sector
c. replace with all zeroes
d. replace with User Data all zeroes
e: replace with erroneous sector

and i get lots of these errors. help.

The disc is probably protected. I've done something like this before but I forget the program I used.

You might try one of those other options (b-e). It shouldn't take long if it does it right. Otherwise it's just getting hung up on the protection.

AOE 2 is protected somehow, 'cause I've tried it.

you need clone cd to do the job ;)

i just used a no-cd crack. somehow it didn't work with the original, but worked for the expansion. i did get an iso made with magiciso, but didn't work. oh well.

you can always make one with CDSpace5 by Space International.
