Lo all, i am a lowly student and live off my hsbc debit card, Steam does not accept this. I was thinking of getting a credit card, putting on the equivalent of 50 dollars and buying the Silver steam package, but i have a few worries.

Firstly, i've never used a credit card before or signed up for one, is it literally possible to put the money on it, make the one payment so it has no credit on it and then cut it up and forget about it?

Im worried il have to pay fee's and my whole life signed onto this thing.
Also do Valve keep the information for future transactions? If they in their wisdom decided to let me use my Switch card, i can change to that for upgrading/expansions etc?

Or should i go the hasslefree but slower route and get the game from a store... If anyone has any advice on getting, stopping and sorting out credit cards it'll be appreciated.

thankyou. :imu:

get the ce from amazon its the same as the silver package on steam

How long have you been here again? Of course not!

i mean fee's to the credit card company not valve :)

Anyway, my friend from back home has said he'll stick it on his when i visit at the weekend, so tis all good. Silver package, here i come :D

No need to do any of that. Open a current account at barclays and you get a visa electron, which you can use through steam.
