Crysis 2 and 3 announced

Meh, Crysis was just a rehash of Far Cry with a new plot, tbh I'm more excited for Far Cry 2 from Ubi than Crysis 2 and 3.

Same here Gargantou, besides we'll only get play Crysis 1 as it was meant to be played when Crysis 2 is released! MAN it really gets me angry when games come out taht are really shallow and need a monster rig just so we can look at hoe pretty it is, just fu%k of Crytek and make a decent game that doesnt realy on eye candy! AARGHH!!

lol ubisoft with their buggy pos games....good luck with that.:E
As if Crytek are any better, Cevat is full of shit, he lied about several things, including quad-core support, the first Crysis techdemos have shown that quad-core isn't actually used by Crysis, despite what Cevat says.

Read my post, DESPITE what Cevat said, these benchmarks have been done with bloody 8800GTXes, I consider that a 'very good GPU', yet the benchmarker got no performance difference whatsoever between a standard Core 2 Duo E6600 and one of intels best quad-core CPUs.

I mean honestly, Cevat is a CEO of a COMPANY, have you ever heard of a CEO of a company admitting to lying to their consumers/customers?

I didn't even finish the demo I was that bored with it.

I can't imagine the "recommended" specs for Crysis 3...

7gigs of DDR4
8core processor @ 7.0ghz per core
4x GeForce 41000 in Quad SLI
2 terabytes of HDD space

And that's for "somewhat playable at low resolution with no AA and medium details" and the game will only actually take advantage of one of your eight cores.

Naw naw, Recommendations:

Your name must be Bill Gates in order to touch this game.

Crysis aka the tech demo that could. I think the UT3 engine is going to get a bit more love from random developers in the long run.

Is annoucing a trilogy of a barely\un released games the new trend? You know, that makes the stroy even worse. If they are making 2 and 3, they should have had alot more clarity of how to end the first in a satisfying manner.

:D ehm!!!

I think it's pretty alright so far. Far superior to FarCry, in the least.

Crysis is an example on how to not make a game.

Games are supposed to be fairly scalable for people with decent PCs made within the past 2/3 1/2 years, not games where hardly anybody can even run it decently on medium.

Granted, I can run it on medium and it runs at a steady 30/40 FPS... which is quite playable for me.
I'm just saying for others out there, they end up having to upgrade their machines just to play it when every other game out there runs great.

It IS scalable though. Crysis can run on hardware as far back as 4 years old. There are people with Radeon 9800s reporting being able to run it. Yes, it may not look too pretty, but the fact that it can run on such dated hardware indicates that it is pretty damn scalable. Here's a youtube vid of someone claiming to be running it on a 9800 pro, and they're getting decent frame rates it looks (considering fraps is running as well):

I'm just glad he mentioned that "working on drivers all the time" thing, because the current stuff really blows.

Well I'm stuck on the SP mode right now. I'm at the VTOL extraction part, where you're in the grave yard. I've finally managed to hunt down two or three NKPA nano-suited guys and gotten my guy to say that he's "working on it" when told there where more guys...but I can't find them. I've played the part several times, because I kept getting shot up (on Delta), and I definatly don't think this time around I've killed as many as I've seen in the previous attempts. I've walked around the area but I have not seen a single one of them :|

There are about 5 of them or so. I cloaked and wondered around, thats how I found them, when I got the "working on it" message the last guy ran right by me and that's how I found him.

When I had them all coming down on me, I was near the shopping cart. There had to be AT LEAST twelve guys...unless you're talking about the nanosuited ******s.

*Video running on 9800 pro snip*

What intrigues me about this video more so than the scalability is that without the eye-ball massaging visuals, it appears exactly the same as Far Cry... except with the nanosuit. I'm not judging the whole game on this, but if I was to watch that video alone I'd think it's just a Far Cry expansion.

Visuals in this case add a lot to the experience.
