Oh boy, another $50/$60 tech demo.

here comes another shitty game from a shitty developer

I hate Crytek, they're the epitome of what's wrong with gaming nowadays. Shiny graphics do not equal a good game, but given some reviews and people out there, I'm apparently in the minority when I expect good gameplay.

wow so much hate. I really enjoyed crysis. Dont come with that bullshit "oh you need a 10.000 dollar rig just to play it" pfft, you can easily build a low end system for around 800 dollars and play on highest settings. This game is very misunderstood and easily targeted for hate simply because of its graphics. I can turn it all down to shitty low and still enjoy it.

Cant wait for the sequel

Far Cry is the best shooter ever IMO, the gameplay perfectly fits to me: Lots of tactical action, almost no story, insane amounts of variety(at least, if you play through the whole game, most gamers stop after a few levels and say the game sucks).

Crysis killed almost all of the tactical gameplay, because of the introduction of the Nanosuit and a very flawed AI(while the Far Cry one had some major problems too).

Crytek, PLEASE make a sucessor to Far Cry, and by that I don't mean a piece of crap like Far Cry 2 which is completely different.

I played through Crysis 1 and Warhead with everything on Very High on my new computer. It looked awesome. If they can amaze me with something even nicer in Crysis 2 (which I doubt btw, since this is aimed at consoles), things would be even more awesome. Game itself would probably be crap without good hardware though.

Oh my sweet ****ing jesus my xbox will blow up.

Warhead was fun, never finished Crysis 1 though

Same for me. Warhead gave me acceptable framerates in almost all scenes(15-20fps), it hardly ever dropped below that.

In the original it sometimes dropped to 7fps or lower in intense fighting scenes, rendering the game almost unplayable.

this. warhead sucked compared to the original.

Ok, protip to all game developers: Make a trailer where you get to see ingame footage on fullscreen.

Crysis was alright. I fail to see how it was any more overblown or stupid than everything else released, ever. It's certainly a better game than Far Cry, Dinnesch. I'm all for variety, but the Trigen bits were f***ing terrible.

I actually find FarCry better than Crysis, but still a terrible game.

I enjoyed Far Cry but I fail to see all the hoolabaloo with Crytek. I'm surprised they even got floor time last night at the MSFT conference.

Despite the horrible (but in a comical way kinda horrible) voiceacting I liked Farcry. Same goes for Crysis, but yeah, they're not awesome games as some would have you believe - just good.

FarCry 2 on the other hand was awfully bland and monotonous.

I enjoyed Crysis but Far Cry shitted me.

Far Cry I didn't enjoy and people told me it was because I wasn't good at the game, therefore i didn't enjoy it. That probably also added to my hate of it

Far Cry 2 was better than Crysis. FACT.

Maybe they will make this one actually good, so people will actually buy it rather than just download it as a benchmarking tool.

Yeah that's the frustrating part, I once broke a keyboard to pieces when I died for the 9999st time.

I highly recommend everyone who hates Far Cry to try it on Realistic difficulty, otherwise it is just a shitty pointless game with nothing but annoyance. Don't stop playing after 2 hours, because you really need to get used to the different gameplay ;)

I fully enjoyed Crysis. Many arguments I hear about the game are rather weak, but one that comes up often is that the bit with the aliens was the worst (compared to the first part of the game) with no explanation of why. I'd like to know why someone might think this. It was different, but for there to be so many arguments that the alien part was horrendous infers that there may be something I never noticed before. I thought it was fun... a little creepy, a scary part that made me jump, 3D instead of 2D fighting, wonder at what they were up to with all that human residue, for example.

Crysis does feature the worst one-on-one in Video game history though. Poor Kyong.

Because it took all the great non-linear gameplay out in favour of some average and forgettable linear gameplay.

wait...what?

1. playing crysis on anything less than hard is criminal

2. don't know bout you but the nanosuit make tactical maneuvers even more frequent. stealth, sniping, sneaking, ambushing...what the **** are you talking man?

3. flawed AI...i dare you to find me a game with better AI? there were countless times when i was like "oh shit....****ing sneaky bastards". they dodge bullets, take cover, change positions, stalk and flank you.
did you get a bad copy or something? the first thing that really impressed me was the AI.
just compare it to most games out there...you have enemies just standing and shooting or roll here and there once in a while.

4. ok story is not that deep and quite cliche...but at least it's nicely portrayed.

People use that same argument for the Halo series and it doesn't work for that either.

Crysis was far too easy to be entertaining, even if it had had a decent story.

I found Halo 1 a lot more enjoyable on Legendary, but yeah, it's usually a mark of something being wrong with the game when you have to force it to just generally test your skill, rather than be balanced at every level you play it at.

Though I imagine FC1 'realistic' is one of those double-edged-sword modes where you take more damage but enemies are 'realistically' easier to kill, rather than a Halo 'legendary' type mode where your armour is made of straw and petrol and your opponents absorb bullets before bending your over and treating you very roughly indeed.

I've finished Warhead on both Easy and Delta.

Indeed, it allows you to use a lot more strategies, for example using your cloak, hide, wait for the enemies to pass and shoot them in the back. It for sure is original, and I enjoyed it a lot.
But because of the regenerating health you don't have to care about being hit anymore. As long as you're close to a cover object, you can simple expose yourself to fire without caring about every time you're hit.

This makes Crysis unique from other games, probably it's just me because I wanted a Far Cry successor so badly.

It's the most advanced AI I've ever seen in a game, but it should be even more advanced to power such an complex game.
There's nothing more disappointing than a KPA soldier turning his back to you in the middle of a very intense fight.
But this was very ocassional, and to be fair I just copied this complaint from other people without thinking by myself. The AI can be pretty challenging on Delta.

Crysis is still my #3 best fps ever(after Far Cry and FEAR), it simply is a very enjoyable and technically great game with huge environments.

I dont get the fuss behind crysis AI personally. I found it to be avarage. Now fears AI is something to be proud of. Dont know how they are going to port crysis controls on to a PS3 though? Not enough buttons!

I thought it was a pleasant break from the jungle trek. It fed some of the storyline, presented the player with a puzzle or two, and returned you to the open gameplay a bit later.

Crysis was far too easy to be entertaining, even if it had had a decent story.
Not all players may be that good. The first time I played it, I died a few times until I got used to the suit functions. Once I could breeze through the game on the hardest level, I'd try different approaches (run 'n gun with just speed mode, melee/throw objects only, etc.) Eventually I got to the point where I have to go to lengths to make the game challenging, but it was a fun ride to get there.

Mmm, from playing parts of it at a friends, I loved Crysis and plan to buy it when I get my new compy.

personally i was against regenerating health at first...but then i realized that action scenes
were far more "realistic" with quick draining health. as in you died very easily if just recklessly attacked a group of enemies. to me that's "realistic", the downside like you mentioned is that you just have to hide behind a rock and wait a few seconds.

to compromise i'd say a better way would be that your health would regenerate depending on your stealth bar...the more you're under fire or in an action the slower it would regenerate. thus requiring to run away and hide. but all in all, i wasn't bothered that much. maybe because i wasn't exploiting the system (the first time around).

and you people complaining that it was way too easy...well...i have no argument here, obviously you need a bigger challenge...but i can't remember any FPS out there that are really challenging. most FPS that are challenging are because of badly designed fights, weird controls or similar annoying features. what do you consider a challenging game? mentally, puzzles, physically/reaction based?

I always wanted to try Crysis, if just to see it maxed out.

Crysis is ****ing awesome. I loved that game and I definitely will buy this one.

at this point, haters please **** off, this argument has been done enough already. yes we know you hate crysis, thank you very much.

heres a better vid. just wanted to say that the riot thing looks pretty interesting. I'm thinking that has to do something like... the whole has been pretty much overwhelmed by the aliens. And you are in the middle of this street war, and I can see this riot going on, people trying to escape their city. as in that would be one of the levels/scene..

Crysis was fun. Wouldn't mind trying out the second (though I still haven't played Warhead). I got sick of Far Cry when the mutants came into it, and I never got into Far Cry 2.
