We have started to run a CS 1.5 server through our uni network and one of the lads keeps getting an error wile joining the server (shown in pic below). It is an old laptop but it does run HL was just running around on half life. Has any one got any idears?!

From a google search:

If when you try to play you get an error that mentions "Hunk_Alloc Error",
you do not have enough memory on your machine to play Counter-Strike.
Multiplayer applications are HEAVILY memory-intensive, and so I
would not recommend playing without a MINIMUM of 64 Mb of RAM.

If you get this error, you have only one possible solution short
of purchasing new memory: Right click on your CS shortcut and select
"Properties". Add the following to the the "Target" line. You can use
the "-heapsize xxxx" command, where xxxx is a number in Kilobytes.
You want to try as high a number as possible to force your machine
to use more memory. (Example: 32Mb of memory on your machine, try
"-heapsize 32000". If it doesn't work, lower it a little and try again.

Unfortunately, you probably are out of luck. The -heapsize command has
become less and less effective as more patches came out, and it is now
basically worthless. (It was never particularly good)
All we can tell you is to either buy more RAM, (which is SUPER cheap
now, no one should have less than a minimum of 128) or just tell you
to make certain that NOTHING besides the game is running. No instant
chat programs, nothing like that.

hope it helps :dork:
