CS:S holding HL2 release?

I think that what is holding back HL2's release now is mainly CS:S isn't it? cuz the game is probably done and ppl at Valve said CS:S is shipping with HL2 inside the box right? So it's just CS:S that is preventing HL2 from being release? I think they still got lots to do (unless they're hiding it from us) on CS:S, new player models and maps right? just thought of this and thought of sharing this with yall.

Also, is there a date for the Beta closing? cuz I think HL2 will only go gold when CS:S beta test has stopped, then, they send the CS:S and HL2 RCs to VU right?

CS:S Beta has been made in reality for testing of the source engine itself. By testing CS on our differnet computers and different configurations, we are indirectly fixing HL2 itself. So i wouldnt see it as holding back HL2, i would see it as Fixing HL2 and making it better

But the BETA is still out. And there still releasing updates for it. Which means, they want us to test it longer. With each new update they probably want a good 2-3 weeks of feedback from the players. Since theres probably 3-4 more CS:S updates coming out, the game will definitely be out in November. This is my "prediction" however.
