CS:S Menu Background

[Malfunction]

I got that 28-map pack off of File Planet. Maps work nicely, but it changed my CS:S background to advertise the compilers of the maps clan or whatever. How can I get rid of this?

When you run the .exe, it tells you what folder to install in...

and I'm not sure about the background, but I do remember there was a thread pointing out how to change it over on the steam CS:S beta forum....

so not sure where you'd find it these days since it all dissappeared after the beta ended, and they started from scratch with a new CS:S forum.
So the best I can do is point you to the new CS:S forum over at steam. pm the mod Smash, he might know (or atleast be able to point you in the right direction

(Hadn't bothered installing those maps yet, might not bother at all if they include mass advertising:E )
EDIT- I take it you mean PAF map-pack-1? (didn't get frm fileplanet, I got a link off cs-nation so I didn't have to bloody queue!)

i think it is a .wad that changes the background. try looking for suspicious wads, and renaming it to see if it gets rid of it, the original background is stored in the gcf

btw, i think gcf's are the coolest, you can install models and if you dont like them, just remove them and you have the original.
same thing with a lot of other things
