CS:S screwed up since released to CZ owners?

This game was running perfect on my PC in every server until tonight. It says it's 100% done, i try and connect to servers, some get to where there is about 2 or 3 bars left and never goes through, other times i get in servers about 8 different ones with 400+ ping, unplayable! It shows everyone like that too! WTF is going on here? Valve **** up or is steam just running like shit since every is still pre-loading/loading?

I have the same problem. It hangs at "sending client info" with like 2 bars left to go and never connects.

It's a server error, most of the servers are being hammered pretty heavily right now.

Yeah, as SpaceRain said, CS:S servers are being hammered to death. A 60 person game will fill in a matter of seconds, causing it to crash. There's simply WAY too many players versus servers. Most of your connecting issues aren't because of a bug or anything, it's just the server's problem.

I had this problem.

a) delete the steam subfolder "...\SteamApps\[your email address/login]\ counter-strike source beta"

b) delete the CS:S cache and redownload

I did 'b' before 'a', so I don't know if 'b' is always necessary, though in my case, a bad download was part of the problem.

Steam seems to have trouble with game downloads interrupted and resumed, or with games launched before they're fully downloaded. That's my theory, because I did both. Try not to do either if you do 'b'.

i am pretty sure thats correct...
well i wont play on 40 ppl servers... 18 is maximum, i don't want a lag fest(server side lag)
