CS:S stuttering and HL2

Just recently my HL2 and CS:S has been sturering really badly.
It never used to do, but started doing in the last month. Ive tried downloading latest drivers from NVIDIA but that didnt work.

Im on a AMD2800+
and a Geforce ti4800SE
With a gig of ram.

Has my card fried?
Or is it becuase of a steam update?

The Geforce 4800SES rock.

Always been great never had a problem with it, but this 'bug' has just started hapening, why?
