CS Slowdown

Hey Guys,

When playing CS I get really good framerate of about 71fps, but every 5 seconds it drops to like 6fps momentarily. That makes the game absolutely unplayable. I just reformatted today, installed new catalyst drivers, directx 9b, downloaded the updated motherboard chipset drivers, and i set my graphics to medium, and Smartgart to 8xagp with fast write on, I then turned fast write off but that didn't make a difference. Any suggestions? Thanks a mill.

What graphics card do you have?

AFAIK, all Radeon cards get crap performance in CS these days. ATi is reworking their OpenGL drivers, last I heard. So, try www.omegadrivers.net the omega drivers. They have a tweaked OpenGL driver designed for CS players in mind

Yeah, I can't believe I didn't mention system specs. Radeon 9700pro, 1gb of ram, and 2.53ghz p4. I will try those Omega drivers. Thanks a lot.
