So, when are they going to get rid of this beta and give us the full game in all its glory. And i really hope they fix the player-object interaction. When you walk into a chair and are replelled backwards, something is very wrong...

release, soon, maybe. Though it is basically released, prolly get patches soon, maybe thats the surprise

the physics, well guess that was a choice for the CS:S team using a special mp entity for them, less lag, apparantly they thought CS:S could live without tactics using physics objects, so you might have to live with it, since the only way your gonna lose the bouncy physics is to make the maps again but with the physics objects set differently (easy task to do if you have the original maps before compile)

Yep, I believe you make a prop_physics_multiplayer entity and tie it to a prop model. It probably uses the bounding box instead of vertex-based physics (likely what HL2 uses) to calculate collisions, and the _multiplayer just gives it different collision effects.

If you want the good kind of physics, I think you can still use that. Just don't expect the network speed to be any good.

many user made maps use real physics and i never had lag....

In the beta there was no dodgy physics like there is now, and it never caused any lag for me anyways - But that was just on one map.

It thought this was the final game. Wasn't the beta the one you could get before you could buy it through Steam?

hmm I fully agree that the game isn't ready jet . I hate these vgui menu's and I want the old style menu's back. u also can't download maps if u just click on a server with a map u don't have... very irritating ( u have to dll maps from sites for now)
I hope they work it all out soon cuz i still play the 1.6 ...
