CS: Source Pre-delayed

Although the Counter-Strike: Source BETA was initially planned to be pre-loaded on August 5th, that date has been pushed back, according to an e-mail from Jess Cliffe of Valve Software:
Counter-Srike: Source will not start pre-loading on the 5th. We are working extremely hard to get it out and will have more information on this soon.

The CS: Source BETA was scheduled to be made available for play on the 10th. It's unknown, but likely, if that date will be pushed back as well.

i knew it was gonna happen thats why im not mad,at the end of the day do you guys want a beta that sucks? or a beta that shows what cs source can really do?

regardless of how much valve suck at hitting dates and even they have admitted it,i still think cs source will kick ass along with half life 2,the only way i could get pissed is if half life 2 does not come out this year,and to say it wont come out this year is stupid to be honest because we all know it will.

As long as i get it before xmas along with cs source i am happy.


and i believe in my heart of hearts hl2 and cs source will be the best games created since hl1
 
Well I must say, I am at least pleased they said something. Even if it is only one day (actually in fact by my clock it IS the 5th) before preloading.

They at least appear genuinely interested in trying to get it out ^^
 
bleh, too bad, hope it will still be released at 10th of august :(
 
lol, im actually not supprised...I always have faith in Valve, but never with release dates...
 
Why announce dates only to break them and move them backwards? Specially if they wait to the day previous to announce the fact the date is moving... this is a seriously stupid thing to do, and makes the company look like liers.

They should just do what ID do, and say 'you'll have it when it's ready' - doesn't piss anyone off.

Oh well, thank god I got Doom 3. Haven't played it yet, still waiting for a more capable graphics card.

It'd better arrive soon....
 
Hahahaha, Valve makes me laugh.

I will be suprised if they release CS Source this year.
 
This is getting rediculous. I know many of you will just be like 'omg have patience' but it seems like every date they set is broken. All I hope for is that there is a finished product on store shelves sometime in September. August isn't a realistic date anymore, so September (even the 30th ;/ ) seems like it could be reasonable.
 
Funny how Cliffe says 'We'll have more information on this soon.' I bet we hear nothing until it's released lol :D

They just say they will have more information soon to shut people up. I don't think they have any intention of actually saying anything.

Valve are so dumb. Maybe they should stop showing off the game to the media and get it done so we can actually play it.

My thoughts exactly. I think we all have to start praying that we won't get more delays and hope that HL2 doesn't become another TF2 or DNF.

Aside from that horrid thought, Valve's credibility has officially hit rock bottom. This is the second time they have had to announce a delay within days of their 'projected' target. I don't honestly know if I can actually trust another word from the mouth of Valve.
 
This has to be quite imbarassing for my main man Gabe...
 
It always amuses me when developers say "soon" because it can really mean anything. Soon can mean a few days, or soon can mean 2 months.

"We'll have more information soon." and you don't hear from them for 2 weeks
 
This isn't good news, but I am over it. It'll be out soon enough.

There was a working beta in Korea 2 weeks ago. They're playing with us. All of this is an obvious marketing strategy.
 
They can't even PRELOAD a BETA. Couldn't they have just started loading up textures and worked on the fixes in silence? What nubs.
I don't know how you can miss a preload of a beta though.

im not even disappointed. Valve has broken me, i don't even care anymore

What is the point? It would start the same time either way.

you're right, cuz releasing the beta a few days later can change it from a sucky beta to a great beta

Can't believe they are still setting release dates everytime when they never make them.

Don't hold you breath buddy. Its been delayed. They are very particular to pick there words in an unspecific manner.

Expect a response soon, on the expected release of the release candidate sometime during some Holiday Season in some land yonder.
 
in my opinion it would have been wise for valve to release the beta on schedule, maybe not the preload, but stick to the 10th. another missed release, really isn't a good idea... summer is, well, over.. august ain't gonna happen and september looks like a maybe. But the beauty of releasing a beta is, it doens't have to be perfect. we've seen upteen minutes of playable game footage.. and to me it looks like something that could be released. but if this is how valve wants to continue, thats thier choice....just seems kinda ominous...
