CS: Source is shipped with HL2, right?

Yesterday a friend gave Half Life 2 to me as a gift, through Steam. Now, I was expecting to find both Half Life 2 SP, and Couter Strike: Source, because I read that CS:S is included with HL2. I can't find it however... Did I miss something or is it really not there?

Depends. When Half-Life 2 first came out it was bundled with CS:S to make up for no mulitiplayer. Now that HL2 has HL2: DeathMatch, CS:S is no longer bundled unless you still find a retail version of HL2 with CS:S still in it. Getting HL2 as a gift will defiantly not give you CS:S or the Lost Coast level.
