CS:Source rates and config problems

Ok I've already hit search but have had not much great luck. I'm trying to fix my config for cs source and I'm having nothing but problems. My rates are set to 20000 and im trying to figure out what my cmd rate and such should be at. Would it be easier to just delete my config file and start from scratch?

If I'm not mistaken, I'm using default values, except for:

rate 20000
cl_interp 0.01

and it's fine

Default values are designed for use by 56k'ers. I'd recommend using something more like 60-100 for the cmd and update rate values. Assuming you have a reasonable internet connection that is.

I have a 5 mbit cable connection, and these settings work perfect for me:
cl_cmdrate 60
cl_updaterate 60
rate 25000

So, maybe try these out.

I see what would you recomend for a slower connection? I have dsl but I think its around 256K. It pisses me off because the 112K setting or w/e it was is not on steam anymore and that one worked perfectly with default settings. Maybe its just the servers I play on I dunno. Any suggestions would be appreciated though.
