CS:Source Tomorrow?

I HOPE SO!!!! :D :D

If I want to use all caps, I should be able to, dammit. ;(

I don't understand how this will work though?...

I mean how will we get it? buy it over steam or what?

And how reliable is this source?

Like... CBS sources?

or

Like... The Pope?

You can only buy it over steam if you want to play it immediatley. But if you want to buy a boxed copy you will have to wait till hl2 comes out (mabye over a month).

Yeah, if you want CS:S early, you have three options. Buy the HL2 Steam Bronze, Silver, or Gold package.

Once you've made your purchase, you can download the rest of CS:S and play the full version game immediately, and then also be able to play HL2 as soon as it's unlocked (weeks down the road).

I hope that's true also, but I'd really like to hear where they got that info. Unless it was a tipoff from Valve or VU themselves, we probably won't get any news tomorrow.

I have a feeling that a lot of people are just speculating that because the official announcement said "next week" it meant the very first working hour of next week (Monday morning). I'm not so sure... but I'll be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong.

but what about that whole lawsuit with VU?

I mean you KNOW people will be buying CS:S (be i gold , bronze, whatever) and will have no reason to go out to by the boxed copy when its released (maybe just for the box itself  ).

am I wrong?

No your not wrong and that is the way it should be but there are plenty of fan boys that need a manual to make love to and wear their hl2 hat and shirt to school so that they can be beaten up while reading thier manual. I am not buying anything from viviendi. I will buy off steam so that all my money goes to those that worked endless hours in a little cubicle to bring us a game so hats off to the artists. Srew VUG. Go Valve. Tomorrow is the day, they did say next week so here we gooooooooo goooooooo gooooooo.

Rgr. tmr to wed. thats my guess.

"According to a reliable source..."

I wish I had a dollar for every time someone posted information from "a reliable source". And I wish I had $100 for every time those "reliable sources" turned out to be not so reliable!

Here's hoping that source is as reliable as they say.

Here's hoping:

*Double Grenade bug is fixed
*Hitboxes are improved
*Smoke stacking is fixed (although it is amusing)
*Undefusable bomb bug is fixed (only heard of this)
*Speed hackers all choke on double grenades
*People who downloaded it illegally can't play

also:

*There are some maps uploaded to us that we don't already know about. (They said they had made some totally original maps before now, I think they said larger maps to accomodate 64 players etc.)
*There is a "fun" map with vehicles
*It is regularly updated as they finish more source conversions of classic maps and stomp more bugs

last but not least:

*It is released tommorow
:sniper:

Ooh,. last chance to use the double nade bug!!

Damn,. tomorrows just a couple hours away too (Pacific/VALVe time).. though I suppose it wouldnt go online 'till they all get to the office tomorrow.

Sheit.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

I guess we'll find out what the Steam prices are tomorrow, too!@

WahooOO!!! :bounce:

So, whos buying Steam packages?

If you are, we want videos of every map!!!!!!!!!!!!!(while i get my spare change together for this)

I'll take plenty of screens and post them on my website, but I don't have enough space or bandwidth for video.

COME ON... the same shit happened last year. DONT BE SO GULLIBLE

http://www.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=149886

The guy who made this announcement says it is reliable source. He plays with Gabe Newell who plays CS:Source on his clan server with the name Gabe Newell. Eh... don't fall for this stuff so easy.

Oh by the way I play CS as Nicole Kidman.. so I must be Nicole Kidman right?

"According to a reliable source, we here at CS-Nation have been given information regarding the upcoming release of Counter-Strike: Source. We have heard that CS: Source is due for a release tomorrow, the 4th of October. It should be noted that the source has told us that once the final version of CS: Source is released, the BETA period will come to a close. As no official announcement has been made by those at Valve, this is purely speculation based on the information we were given, and the date is subject to change."

that and i played whit him in cs:s

http://www.csnation.net/viewnews.php/7543/

i was really tempted! but i just asked about vac2, leaked maps content and why the heck he way playing on iv_scoutzknivez

For the lazy.

I sincerely doubt CS:S will be released until HL2 is gold/pricing has been announced. Unless of course that all happens tomorrow.

I'm not following this. CS-Nation made a news post about receiving information "from a reliable source", and some guy on on the Steam forums made a post referencing that story and his supposed encounter with Mr. Newell in a game of CS:S (give me a break).

Still, how is one related to the other? Ie. the CS-Nation news post, to this doofus on the Steam forums? More explicitly: why does that guy's post invalidate the CS-Nation story, unless you're saying the Steam poster is the unnamed source (?).

Not saying I believe either of the two, but I'm just not seeing the connection.

Bleh, can't edit that now.

Or are you saying that this player is also the source for the CS-Nation story? I don't see how you got that, nor do I think they're that naive over at CS-Nation(?).

CSNation are usually a reliable source, but since this is speculation we can't do anything but hope for the best. At least it's supposed to be released this week. Cheers people!

OOo! Can't wait! I get to play it as soon as it's released!

/me cuddles his ATI voucher.

wtf? 24 more hours? IT IS october the 4th!

I really doubt they're gonna release it at the stroke of midnight ;)

Well you are confused by the post and the process for posting so I don't expect you to understand
:stare:

Point being.. don't fall for the same hype that happened this time last year. Until you see something from vALVE or VUG delivered by a reputable site such as hl2.net then don't believe the hype. CSNation is far from reputable :hmph:

What makes you say that? they've been around for five years, and they're the #1 CS website. If they say CS will be released today, then you should believe them :p

It's probably around noon for Valve, I'm not sure though.

well theres been no announcement from valve. usually when they are quiet its bad news lol :/

Ehm, ass. After a certain amount of time, the cute little "edit" button disappears.

No, your point was that it was all the work of some guy, who claimed to play with "Gabe Newell". I pointed out that the two really weren't related.

Then you had to talk smack, as the kids say :smoking:.

ARRR! I'm ready to play NOW! Release this shizz! GAH! :p
