Just completed this as a project for my University

www.pobz.net/csuci.htm

Thought i'd post it in the remote chance of someone looking at it. It works on CS and CS:CZ (bot nav file included)...

any thoughts/feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

heh yeah, the front doors are wrong though, I blame the HL1 engine... can't combine both transparent and solid brushes into one object (such as a swinging door) so the only way to do it is to make the entire door glass... but Source will be virtually unlimited... I can't wait to get let loose on it :D

hey lePobs very nice :D you work on any mods/ because we're looking for a mapper :)

Don't know... i'm really busy and I want to spend my free time making funky maps in Source that test the physics and do really funky things... so being tied to a mod would kinda suck away my free time...

...Plus there's probably a few thousand people better at mapping than me :)

I haven't dl'd your map but a work-around to the glass door problem is to make 2 doors. Have one be the frame and one be the glass part. You may have to mess with the lip or rotational degrees but its pretty self-explanatory. Then give them both the same name. You can trigger it with a trigger_multiple in front of the door or a button or whatever. Doesn't work so great if you require it to be activated with the 'use' key tho.

I did that in an earlier map JFry... it works kinda, but they both rotate at different speeds sometimes and generally look crappy :(

I used a tutorial last time, did it exactly the same as they say... It does work, but there are glitches where if something stops one open then the glass opens without the frame, for instance... i'd just prefer to have it as i've done it... its artistic licence and glitch free. :)

1) make the door
2) select all parts of the door (glass, frames)
3) turn the selected brushes into a door entity

Always worked for me (and Valve).
