CSS Won't Start After Update?

CS Source no longer works after the net disconnected halfway through an update? It say preparing to play CS Source, reads the CD then nothing? I have tried rebooting, re-starting Steam, any ideas. Thanks in advance

i am getting this problem as well...steam updated and now the game says its loading then dissappears and its as if i never even initiated to start the game at all... i love it when they mess with stuff that isnt broken and break it so no one can play.. way to go steam another award winning F' UP

i think we are screwed for the night... i am so sick of steam.. since steam came along they have been screwing up and a pain in everyones neck. BAH.. i am so sick of steam.. steam this steam that.. steam update and break whats not broken.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yer im getting the same thing, my hl2 cs:s hl2:dm doesnt work, it loads the cd and then nothing.
Steam does it again, im not a happy chappy with steam, and they manage to ruin a great game.

would it appear that your all using the retail version of the game and not purchased via steam? that may of been an oversight on VALVe's part

I don't think that makes a difference

By the way, I had that problem yester day after the new update, but when I restarted steam today, it got an update for half life 2 and everything is hunky dory now.

Try restarting steam to see if that helps.
