CTF_Omega_redux is a map made by our very own Pi Mu Rho (our Space Defence Commander or something like that) and of course the map is awesome and epic win, so you must download it and play it! or he'll invade you. Pi said

er..umm.. it's a CTF map in a similar style to 2fort, but encouraging more open play

Yup, his words got me hyped to play the map.

It's a very good map, and I recommend anyone who can go to be there.

it's alright for a bit of public fun but it's too big for Matches I'm afraid.
There's no need for the centre bit to be there, and Reds can build an SG in a deadzone area... http://img413.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sgzk9.jpg whereas Blue cannot on their side.

There are also some problems with the barriers not being placed properly and having their collision boxes on different levels, meaning that players will collide with some of them and not others even if they are not close to it. http://img187.imageshack.us/my.php?image=railing02pz8.jpg

I'm sure you want to improve it rather than everybody telling you that it's the best map since de_dust...I'm a professional level designer for a games company so I tend to be a bit of a Nazi when it comes to these things :monkee:
 
Issue #2 was waived FYI. I don't think the first one was caught onto. I can't tell from the screenshot just how powerful that location is for SGs.

It was never meant for matches - just to be a fun CTF map. I hadn't spotted that sentry issue - that could be annoying.

It was good to see so many people playing on the server tonight - a good time was had, and nothing major cropped up. Must do it again sometime!
 
Thankfully my connection didn't **** up so I could play through it all. Didn't even expect so many folks either - there was like 24 players on at one point I think.

I played your map while ago, it's pretty fun!
I recognized only few players, Glectic Hlenn and Sheepo.
 
I've been playing this map during the event, it was awesome!
It's really a great map!
 
A cool map, maybe a little big underground/middle thing, but besides that, some nice rounds with you guys :D
 
I can't make it tomorrow night, either. I have a rehearsal for my sister's wedding at 7:30. Shame.

There might be a weekend match at some point. That'd be fun.
 
Looks awesome, didn't get a chance to join in last night as I have work today and thus needed some sleep. Will definitly try and hop on at some point tonight though.

I don't think it'll be anytime soon. They need another territory control and payload map first. Goldrush and hydro can't hold forever.

I love how everything makes architectural sense once you start replacing dev textures with real materials.

I agree. It needs some railings at the side so people don't accidentally fall off due to the "bounce" effect that occurs when you walk into a teammate.
 
It needs to be bigger in general. It's far too open for stickies and rockets. You'd never stay on.

I'd recommend levels below it on either side.
 
Lots of fun - the center area feels pretty cramped, I'll agree, but it works well. Lots of nice side routes around things for Pyro ambushes and such. Sentries seemed to die pretty easily, but maybe that was just my impression.
 
A few of us are going to play on the server again tonight if anyone else feels like joining.
