Cubemap problems

i created a test map with one room. I placed a Light_spot entity at the top middle, and i set it to a bright blue color. Then i placed an env_cubemap entity below it, aligning it with the light_spot through the top viewport. when i get into hl2 i load up my map and run "buildcubemaps" in console. the game crashes. What am i doing wrong. HELP!!!
 
does it crash when you have just a regular light entity?
 
ya it did twice, then for some reason it worked the third time
im really confused
