Custom Gordon Freeman action figure anyone?

Hey there everyone! I was directed here by some people suggesting I show all of you my new Gordon Freeman custom figure and get some feedback on it. What better critics than Half Life fans right?

The skinny: Playstation the Official Magazine published one of my custom figures (Helghast soldier from the Killzone game) and requested that I make some more. So I went off doing a series called 'Video Game All Stars' and styled them towards an animated theme using GI Joe Sigma 6 figures. They're 8" tall and easier to detail than the smaller Marvel Legends figures.

Fans requested I do Gordon Freeman as one of the figures and translate him into Sigma 6 style. I must of had 100 requests for his character! So last week I hunkered down and created him. Being Half Life players/fans, I'd love to know what you all thought.

Keep in mind that this figure isn't going for 100% in-game-promo-screenshot accuracy. It's Gordon Freeman done 'animated' style like how they did the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise or the Star Wars cartoons. So not every bolt, curve, and hinge of the suit was replicated. My goal was to have you instantly recognize that it's Gordon Freeman without any glaring faults (like purple feet or missing his glasses) and think, "Hmmm, I could see that as being an animated character on TV." If that's the case, let me know! If not, where did I go wrong? Thanks!

I think he looks a bit too athletic and cartoony, a bit thin around the waste.

Looks good though

He's suppose to be the animated version of Freeman. So if he looks like a cartoon, I did my job, lol!

This is quite brilliant, but the blue bits should really be a glossy black.

That looks amazing. It does indeed look like you seem to want...

A couple of problems, however. His waist, it's not entirely "too thin"... but you've made it look more like he's an actual robot, rather than he's wearing a suit. The silver/blue bits also look a bit odd. I think if you made them darker/blacker, it'd be perfect.

Amazing. Best Model I have seen since the "life-size" model of the One Free Man..

Ok, so the metallic blue (such as his shoulders, arms, feet, etc) should be black instead. Is that the Half Life 1 or 2 suit?

I got the color scheme from this:

And it looked like only the gloves and inner thigh parts were dark black, the rest was gunmetal or a blued steel. There any picks of the black suit I can use for another one?

While they aren't as black as I thought, the shade is still far darker than the shiny blue you used. I don't have the game installed right now, but I'm sure somebody here could get you profile shots from Gmod.

That's really cool! God I wish Valve would come out with official action figures. Especially one for D0G. <3 I would totally get yours, shiny blue or glossy black be damned! :p

I like it, looks well made and original =)

Not my style, but very excellent job none the less!

I Love the cartoony look. Any plans on making dr.kleiner? :E

Mister Saotome I have seen your work on TFW2005 its awesome the Gordon figure looks great but can you put red in the middle of the Crowbar :p

I love it, but I have to agree with what the guys said on the spawn board about the orange looking too red. And of course the crowbar should have a red mid section.

Gotcha, but then wouldn't he have an all-red crowbar after it became bloody on the ends?

It's actually more of a woody colour rather than red. It's got a hint of brown in it.

... ....... I Love Jin Saotome!!! I Love Him So Much And I Bow To His Greatness!!!

that figure is awesome, i want one now! He looks extra cool with the shotgun!
