this is the latest from Slash (aka Elad).
Please crit, but keep in mind that's it's a WIP.
Known Issues: (please don't mention these, we already know)
1) THe gun is too thin. That's being fixed ATM
2) The slide isn't a seperate peice. That's also being fixed at the moment.

Also, sorry, but our site is temporarly down so i have to uplaod via forum :?

Plus you probably should get someone that knows how a gun works to model weapons. :O

Other than that, it looks okay.

Cpould you go into more detail? or were you jsut refering to the slide comment?

anyway.

Here are the updated renders. Model clocks in a 1690 tris (+/- 10 forgot exact count b4 closing MAX) (this is with out those bullets.)

model doesent look bad, side do you really need to shamelessly post a new reply for every pic

yes, seeing as you can only attach one .jpg per reply, and my site's server is down. (we're looking at a new host) Thus i cannot use the FTP, and I must use the the forums "upload" feature. Sorry for making it look liked I spammed.

Yeah the slide/hammer looks weird as Ankalar said. Watch the steam hl2 movie Tunnels for an example. The hammer and the slide should be seperate. It won't matter so much when firing(where the silde moves fast), but when the gun is empty it will look wrong (at least to gun freaks). You don't see hammers on all semi-auto pistols like this, sometimes they're internal(which is how I modeled my two not-real pistols). You could get away with leaving the hammer static and connected to the main body of the gun though (but I'd model the slide rails in) - that's what it looks like Valve did to me.

the last shots look cool

but i think the slide should move even further back :dork:

The slide does go farther back (see pic :) )

Fixed the hammer issue.

Feel free to upload your pics in a zip file :) Not only will it compress the jpgs so that they will download faster, but then you can post as many pics in one reply as you want.

Here's something that looks incorrect... at least when compared to most other pistols (I have never seen a BDM with the slide back):

Good point OCybrManO.

How do u quote on peoples text?

I think u need to do something with it. It still looks to smooth. Maybe take the smooth settings down to about 30 degrees then get some edges into it.

Tim: Ohh, good point, but I usally just upload them to our webserver, however the server was done for a bit, forcing me to use the forums.

OCyberManO: I have also never seen a BDM slide, so i'm not 100% sure, but the reason it slids back s to align the hole (forgot real name) and the barrel so the empty shell can come out. *note* You are proberly right....I'll see what we can do.

IchI: You use the BBCode [quote ] and [/ quote], and/or use the little button that says "quote"
