D-Link DI-624 Router Troubles

My roomate just bought a new router over ebay and it arrived today. I set it up while he was at work and it's working. Only problem is it's slow as shit now. I have a 1.5mbps connection...and with this new router it's running like CRAP.

Any idea's as to why this is happening? Anyone with a D-link router have these troubles before?

You're getting better upload then download speed? Wow. Anyway, don't get any other router except Linksys, regardless of price, Linksys is the best.

The reason my roomate wanted a new router was because our old one wasn't xbox-live compatible. This one is...but at these speeds...it doesn't matter.

It's a wireless router and they are slow when using the wireless.
Performance
If it was wired it would be close to 100Mbps and not 44. Also wireless has a large latency.

If he was using the wired ports on the router then that wouldn't be the issue.

Ah...but the thing is...I am wired directly into the router. I'm not using the wireless and none of my roomates are even here to use it.

Then I'm not sure. I wish I could help ya but I don't have a D-Link router, only a Netgear.
Connect to the router and go into the setup, try to disable the wireless or setup a encryption. Just try troubleshooting.
