Search thing didnt come up with much....

So anyway, the Da Vinci Code movie is coming out very soon, i think it's something like this Friday, I'm pretty sure.

Anyway, I decided to check out imdb to see who they cast. I was happy with some of the choices but for some of the others I was kinda dissapointed. I dont really have a problem with Tom Hanks in the main role, mainly becuase I cant think of anyone else that could do it. But I'm not overly enthusiastic about the guy the cast as Silas, Paul Bettany, anyone remember him out of A Knight's Tale?

I'm not sure who I imagined as Aringarosa, but it sure as hell wasnt the guy they put there. I'm happy to see Jean Reno in the film though.

I shouldnt be judging the people they have cast until I've seen the movie, but it's just my opinion.

Linky to cast info

So what are your thoughts on the cast, the movie and the book?

:( whats wrong?
I was joking If you missed that part...

Yeah I like the cast, Jean Reno and Tom Hanks are some of my favorite actors. I wish that story about the cover up was true though. Under careful examination this conspiracy theory fails:( .

My favourite actors are Tom Hanks and Audrey Toutou.

I saw the TV Spot, the Last Supper painting, there is close-up of Jesus painting and the spirit from him suddenly come up, cute but ooooh, scary ghost! Im not blashpeming rumours, but hey, I kinda get scared of ghosts suddenly pops out.

Audrey Tautou - good choice.

Tom Hanks - good choice after seeing the new hairdo, although I wanted Harrison Ford.

Alfred Molina - good choice.

Jean Reno - good choice.

Paul Bettany - good choice although I wanted Sean Bean.

I think the actors are all a very good fit for their part (especially how I pictured them in my mind when I was reading) except Tom Hanks. I didn't picture him with longer hair like that and Tom doesn't seem to have the "swimmer's physique" that Langdon does.

All of that means virtually nothing to me though. Actor choices could only bug me if they were bad actors chosen but that is obviously not the case.

Audrey Tautou = Hottest woman ever.

Terrific cast, terrific book. Can't wait for the movie. I have seen precious few movies in the theater this year, but this will def be worth it...then PotC2 in July!!!

Langdon should have been younger. I was imagining someone like Christian Bale or Edward Norton.

Great book...cant wait to see this!

Was a bit miffed when I heard it was being made into a movie - i think its just being used as a cash cow...Throw "The Da Vinci Code" onto ANYTHING you can just to sell! I mean look at all the spin-off books and books about the mysteries and cracking the Da Vinci code and everything.

Curiousity will win out of course...Fingers crossed for a good conversion!

I saw an article on MSNBC.com about the Vatican being worried that people will see this movie and believe it is fact.

I don't know what's more ridiculous, people thinking a fictional movie is real or the vatican thinking religion is.

**drumroll**

thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week.

Well Langdon as he is in the books is 40-something with some grey hair so I feel Tom is more of the age than Norton or Bale.

I'm so looking forward to this movie! Can't wait to download it! :D

One of the stars has come out and said that people shouldnt protest as it will just make the movie more popular!

How can you make it MORE popular after the books publicity! This movie is instant gold...

i watched this movie tonight and as always, if people are depending on movies to educate them, then i feel bad for em.
i think the point of this movie was more get people to think of the possibilities rather than give answers.

theres no 100% facts one way or another that prove or disprove some of the stuff said in the movie and sadly we may never find out just because record keeping way back was very poor and such.

i enjoyed the movie and with most good movies, this one at least leaves one thinking of what really happened in history.

Is it really 3 hours long? i cant imagine the book spread out that much, i mean, i could probably finish the book before the end of the film...

It really sucks-- honestly save your money

I've been hearing a lot of bad reviews.

And this saddens me as its Audrey Tautou's first American movie :(.

lol I was going to see it last night but somebody stole all the lenses from my local theater. There were actually protesters outside the theater too...in GRAND FORKS, ND of all places. People truely have nothing to do up here.

Movie sucked balls, even as long as it was the editing was shit. Stuff felt too rushed and I couldn't find any reason to give a damn about any of the characters. I didn;t give a shit about any of it, and the movie didn't help. I haven;t read the book, so I was looking at it from a purely cinematic standpoint, and it was just horribly done. Everything was mediocre at best. I don't even suggest this as a rental. I wish I had those hours of my life back.

People keep saying different things about this movie, people here say it's crap but there was a screeing in Melbourne and they said it was great.

I'm seeing it tonight, so I can form my own opinion.

I thought it was pretty bad too. :(

Audrey Tautou is really cute though.

It was pretty bad. I watched it this afternoon. Having read the book there were TONS of plot elements that were completely changed or even completely cut out.

The pacing was bad, script was bad and the action didn't feel at all suspenseful.

I really don't like the fact that it was watered down as well. Langdon on screen is a doubter of the Grail almost the entire time and Teabing is seen as the crazy lunatic when in the book both have almost identical views on the matter.

I could go on.

Saw the movie yesterday and it sucked big time. They should have called it "The DaVinci Chode" instead of code

i thought it was ok, but obviously it was never going to be anywhere near as good as the book. personally i think angels and demons would have made a better movie seeing as it has a bit more action in it, although the jump from the helicopter is so stupid it kind of killed the book for me.

It's actually very physically possible for that to happen. Some skydivers have survived when their chutes didn't open and they hit ground not raging water.

Angels & Demons is a MUCH better book and would make a fantastic translation to the big screen. Too bad they probably won't make it since Da Vinci Code most likely won't do all that well in the box office.

If I go to this movie with absolutely no expectations, I'll probably come out happy.
