dad runs away?

my dad did a coward thing yesterday.. I call him a "prick" (I had my reasons, it's another story..) and he ran away. He got in his car and left.

The entire time my mom was pissed at me.. am I the only one that thinks running away because someone called you a prick is a big fat pink vagina thing to do? I thought it was funny, and didn't lose any sleep over it.

Well, "prick" is not that bad of a thing to say to someone imo, but still you are lucky as hell he didn't just go off on you instead, cause I sure as hell would have loved that.

Sounds to me though like you just need to move out and live on your own and support yourself though. Nothing more cowardly than muching off your parents and living under their roof and talking smack and not respecting them at the same time. But then again I am sure you already knew that.

what do you mean he ran away? did he leave for good? or did he just leave to blow off steam ..are you an adult or a minor?

believe it or not parents are human too ..relationships are extremely hard to maintain in the long run ..throw in kids, mortgages, bills etc and it becomes unbearable at times

Well, to be fair, in some cases it's near impossible to respect your parents. My dad and I have absolutely no bond between us, and he's kind of a jackass to me and my siblings. He doesn't hit us, or yell, but he's just full of contempt sometimes, as if he has the answer to everything, which he certainly doesn't.

I respect the fact that he raised us, and gave us a home, and all that stuff, but I'll never respect how he treats us, how he talks to us, how he's never made an effort to make any sort of emotional bond with me, and how he's just never around to be a dad.



Anyway, BF2slut, if you had a good reason to call him a prick, then all the more power to you. If you don't have a good reason, then you're a hypocrite
