That "Toyshop"-demo is something really impressive stuff. Imagine a GTA game with that kind of weather effects... OMG!

He's right..the tech demos where specifically made for that card. It looks really good, but you won't see developers doing that stuff for awhile.

Pritty good, the water is very impressive. Its all running in real time although it can't be expected to look like that ingame as all its doing is just running along a simple timeline. It doesn't exactly have to do other calculations like AI blah blah blah blah.

That's not the fault of the card developers though. They show off what their cards can do, and it's up to the devs to utilize that power (but most don't for sake of scalability and so they get a wider range of hardware by making more generic but less optimized routines in the program)

dont find it to be impressive, the rain where just particle effects, nothing of it was simpulated, it was all just randomized, they used a parabole on it that makes it speed up as the longer it falls. the water on the ground where just shader textures that makes a random noise.

Its all doable realtime in this generation, the only diffrence are the virtual displacement maps.
